The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

The main message of this story is about making healthy choices when it comes to food. Staying away from unhealthy foods and learning about fruits, vegetables and healthy eating compared to overindulging on fatty, sugary and processed foods. “ O Saturday he ate through one piece of chocolate cake, … and one slice of watermelon. That night he had a stomachache! … The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf, and after that he felt much better” (Carle, 1994). Over eating makes us sick and we should stay away from sugary sweets and we should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.
